Haha xD Nice. I really had no idea you were into Zelda. I've tried some of the games, but for some reason I just never really managed to get into them. But, they do look cool.

To each their own I suppose. Which ones have you played?

I've played a tiny bit of Ocarina of Time, and parts of whatever GBA ones I could get my hands on/emulate. xD They're fun, but I found myself comparing them to another game I've played, by the name of 'Legend of Kay'. Which... The best way to describe it is, Zelda with a more complex fighting system and real jumping as opposed to what it's like in Ocarina of time. xD;

Honestly, I don't think you really can compare stuff from other series. I've found that it ruins it for what it is. I've never played Legend of Kay, so I can't see any comparison, maybe I'll ask about it at the game shop. I'm going the tomorrow.

I found the lack of jumping fine in OoT. It kept you from skipping/cheating over parts, like I've actually done in games that allow full map exploration and jumping. I accidentally got into an area I wasn't supposed to be until like 5 missions later.

Yeah, true. The comparison is probably part of what weakened it for me. xD But yeah, definitely see if you can get it or learn a bit more on it. It's a fun game. As a bit of a warning, it's for the ps2, just in case you don't have the system.

I can see that. xD I just found the way it set up jumping to be a bit odd, because I'm much more used to being able to control my own jumps as opposed to having my person jump for me at the right time. I should give it another try, though. I didn't get nearly as far in OoT as I did in 'The Minish Cap', so I can't really say I have a full enough image of the game to have a complete opinion on it. xD

I grew up on half "lets jump on everything" half "jumping? that's for over weight plumbers" so I guess I'm a bit used to it.

As for it begin for PS1, as long as it doesn't have eye-bleed graphics, I'm fine, and besides, I like older games. I'm currently trying not to kill myself while playing Zelda 1, which control wise is frustrating as fuck. I'm so used to more motion range on the sprite, the de-evolution is kicking my ass.

Yeah. xD For me, it's been consistently 'Unless it's an RPG using 2-D sprites, you're likely able to jump on everything!'.

And, not the ps1. Ps2. Graphically, it's pretty nice looking. Some review claim it has a frame rate issue, but I suspect it's just their tvs. xD I literally never had that problem. And, the original Zelda? I've given it... About a ten second try, if I remember properly. Really wish I would actually try and play it through, but it (and Final Fantasy I, NES) just feel horrible to look at, for me.

Pixels I can deal with. It's the epic rage fits that that game causes. I have to use the players guide for the over world map because there is not way of telling where anything fucking is. /rant

Oh, PS2. That's fine anyway. My brother in law has a backwards compatible PS3.

I can think of two, maybe three people that would actually respond if I tagged them.

... which sucks, since I really want to answer 6 with SO MUCH

Just tag them, if they don't do it, oh well.
